Shabby Sweetness

This is one of my favorite spaces in RareHues.  It is so delicate, so soothing and so shabby.
All of the details are carefully selected  and placed.  So simple yet so elegant.
I have known the lady behind this space for several years.  She is a very kind soul and a very hard worker not only having this new space but another in town and keeping a space at the Monday flea market.  Her life has not been easy  and not wanting to go into details without her permission, I would just have to say that I would not have done as well as she.  I don't know if I would have ever recovered but she was left without a choice but to keep moving.
And so she moves...creating beauty with all her found treasures for others to love and enjoy.

Field of Dreams

When I was thinking about what to write the movie Field of Dreams came to mind.  Inspired by the line, " Build it and they will come," and the recent opening of A Modern Vintage Market called RareHues I thought of how so many lines in the movie rang true of this spectacular store.  It all started with a dream, one that Jen and Juan Carreno brought to life inside of an old Eckerd drug store in Carrollwood FL.
This Modern Vintage Market is the perfect harmony of nostalgic charm and contemporary design.
As you walk the 10,000 square feet in this Field of Dreams you will feel like you have " dipped yourself in magic water," at the discovery of so many talented artists, dealers and craftsmen with their breath taking displays of old and new.

"People will come....people will most definately come," to this wonderful place that "Reminds them that, what once was good can be good again," and you might even hear it whispered from this Field of Dreams,  "the old looks stunning next to the new!"

RareHues New Vintage Market In Tampa FL

Located at 10005 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa FL is a soon to open new vintage marketplace known as RareHues.   For over a year local residents have watched the transformation of this  place go from an old Eckerd Drug Store into this beautiful store.
An everyday occurance was the sight of people who tried to get a peek behind the curtain draped windows.
Each day for the past month car and trucks have been unloading some really amazing things.  I just knew this was really going to be good. So I found them on facebook and this is what I read about the Grand Opening Celebration on May 31st. ,

We are thrilled to invite our community to RareHues' much anticipated grand opening celebration! Ribbon cutting will take place at 10am with opening festivities scheduled throughout the day. Meet our partners for an exciting day of giveaways, raffles, refreshments, music and more. The time has finally come to unveil Tampa Bay's first + largest MODERN VINTAGE MARKET full of fabulous treasures and one-of-a-kind finds.

LIKE + SHARE this announcement to be entered to win a $100 RareHues gift certificate."
How could I not share that with you?
Last night was a VIP event and there were so many people waiting for the doors to open to this invitation only event.
I can't wait to step inside and share with you all of the details of what I know will be an amazing Modern Vintage Market Shopping Experience.

They Filled Their Space With Lace

A Beautiful Space Graced with Lace is the start of my post today.
For decades lace has held a special place in so many facets of our lives.  If you think about it, more than likely it is an everyday part of yours as you slipped from your nightgown this morning and slipped into your clothes.  Did the soft stream of sunlight greet you today through beautiful lace panels?  As you made up your bed did your pillowcases drip with lace trimmed edges? And if your answer is no, then I would challenge you just to see if you can go a week without lace making it appearance at least a few times everywhere you go
It's presence can be found in the loveliest of displays from flea markets to fabulous wedding and specialty boutiques.  There simply is a lure for lace with women and women my friend are everywhere.
Most of us will have plans sometime this year to attend a wedding and just try to count all the places that lace will grace that day. If you are a bride to be or a mother of the bride chances are you are in search for this lovely embellishment to either wear or decorate with.
Vintage themed wedding are so popular now and with Pinterest boards displaying so many wonderful ideas for lace could we run the risk of a vintage lace shortage?  May this never be!
Can you imagine a world without lace?  Gasp!!!!
The thought makes me feel faint.  Good thing I could faint here on this beautiful lace covered fainting couch.
Or sit here among the lace trimmed pillows in this tent created by such a Vintage Soul.

No matter where I go my camera and I stop for lace and if I am a really, really good girl,

Lace comes home with me!
